Cory Sandhagen isn't buying into the hype surrounding Umar Nurmagomedov. The two are set to clash in a bantamweight bout at UFC 280 on Oct. 22, and Sandhagen is confident that he will be too much for the undefeated Russian.
"I think he's a normal human being just like me," Sandhagen said on The MMA Hour. "He's got two arms, two legs, a head, a neck. I don't think he's anything special. I think he's a very good wrestler, but I think I'm a better wrestler. I think I'm a better striker, I think I'm a better grappler. I think I'm better everywhere."
Nurmagomedov is the cousin of former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, and he has quickly risen through the ranks of the bantamweight division. He is undefeated in 15 professional fights, and he has finished 12 of his opponents.
