The Government of Kazakhstan was instructed to ensure the preparation and holding of the XI Paralympic Winter Games in 2026 in Almaty. Kazakhstan Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov will be responsible for preparing and submitting proposals to the President on the structure of the organizing committee of the XI Winter Paralympic Games in 2026 in Almaty within a month.
Recall that at the end of June, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) officially approved the transfer of the right to host the 2026 Winter Paralympic Games to Almaty. Initially, the Games were to be held in the city of Khanty-Mansiysk, but later the Russian Paralympic Committee refused to host the competition.
