Recruiting Humidor: Top Texas targets set to see UT-Michigan in Ann Arbor, IT on the Road
Texas set to host a handful of its top targets this weekend.
Arch Manning, the nation's No. 1 overall recruit, will be in Austin for the game against Louisiana-Monroe. Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei cornerback Domani Jackson will also be in attendance. Jackson is the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2023 class.
Other top targets expected to visit this weekend include:
- DeSoto five-star safety Javien Toviano
- Duncanville four-star safety Jaleel Skinner,
- Katy Tompkins four-star defensive lineman David Bailey
- Sachse four-star wide receiver Billy Bowman
- Sugar Land Bush four-star wide receiver Jacolby Spells
- Cypress Creek four-star offensive tackle Kelvin Banks
The Longhorns are hoping to make a strong impression on these recruits, who are all considering Texas among their top schools.
Texas is currently ranked No. 10 in the 247Sports Composite team rankings for the 2023 class. The Longhorns have a strong chance to finish with a top-five class if they can land some of these top targets.
The Longhorns have already signed a number of key recruits for the 2023 class, including five-star quarterback Maalik Murphy, five-star running back Jaydon Blue, and four-star wide receiver Johntay Cook. Texas is also in the running for a number of other top recruits, including five-star defensive end Shemar Stewart and five-star cornerback Tony Thompson.
The Longhorns are hoping to build on their success from the 2022 season, when they went 11-2 and won the Big 12 Championship Game. Texas is hoping to contend for a national championship in the near future, and they believe that landing a strong recruiting class in 2023 is essential to achieving that goal.
In addition to the recruits visiting this weekend, Texas is also expected to host a number of other top targets in the coming weeks.
The Longhorns are looking to make a statement with their 2023 recruiting class, and they are well on their way to doing so.
